Physician Aesthetic Consultation · Pointe-Claire

A Physician Assessment.
A Clear Path Forward.

Every treatment plan at GhalMédica begins with the Physician Aesthetic Consultation. In approximately 30 minutes, the Medical Director assesses your primary concern, determines whether treatment is appropriate for you, and recommends the options best suited to your anatomy and your goals.

This appointment is designed for patients considering physician-led aesthetic treatment in Montreal, the West Island, or Pointe-Claire, whether you have a specific treatment in mind, such as neuromodulators, ultrasound-guided filler, SkinPen microneedling, or Morpheus8, or a concern you would like assessed before deciding.

The Consultation
What Happens at Your Appointment

The consultation follows a clinical structure designed to make efficient use of your time and to arrive at a clear recommendation. Every appointment is shaped by the patient in front of us, but the path is always the same: concern, assessment, candidacy, plan.

01
Your Primary Concern

The appointment begins with what brought you in. Defining your primary concern clearly is what allows the assessment to be focused and the recommendation to be precise.

02
Relevant History

Your medical history, current medications, and previous treatments are reviewed as they relate to your concern and your candidacy. Contraindications are identified here, not discovered mid-treatment.

03
Clinical Assessment

Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD assesses your facial anatomy and skin condition through a diagnostic lens, drawing on physician tools such as VISIA complexion imaging when clinically appropriate to your case.

04
Candidacy

The assessment determines whether treatment is appropriate for you. When it is not the right answer at this time, you will be told so directly, with the reasoning explained.

05
Recommendation & Plan

You receive a personalized treatment recommendation in plain language, with the clinical rationale made clear. Treatment pricing is presented here, once the assessment is complete, so it reflects your actual plan.

06
Questions & Next Steps

Your questions relevant to the assessment and recommendations are answered before you decide. From there, next steps are simple: schedule your treatment, proceed the same day when clinically appropriate, or take time to consider.

The Clinical Assessment
Physician Tools, Used With Judgment

The value of a physician consultation is the assessment itself: a trained diagnostic eye applied to your anatomy, your history, and your concern. To support that assessment, the Medical Director draws on a set of clinical tools, each used when it adds genuine value to your case rather than by default.

Diagnostic facial analysis, assessing anatomy, structure, and proportion as a whole rather than in isolated areas
Medical history review, identifying candidacy, contraindications, and risk factors before anything is recommended
Ultrasound assessment, mapping vascular anatomy where relevant to filler planning and treatment safety
VISIA complexion imaging, performed when clinically appropriate to provide an objective baseline for planning and follow-up
The Approach
Assessment first
Tools inform the physician's judgment; they never replace it. Each is used when it serves your assessment, not as a fixed script applied to every patient.
VISIA Imaging
When clinically appropriate to your concern, VISIA imaging documents an objective baseline that is stored securely and compared at follow-up to track your progress over time.
The Outcome
A clear, personalized recommendation, with treatment pricing presented once the assessment is complete.
Your Physician
Every Consultation Is With the Medical Director

At GhalMédica, consultations are conducted by Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD, not a coordinator, a patient care advisor, or an esthetician standing in for a physician.

This distinction matters. A physician-led consultation means your history is reviewed through a clinical lens, your facial anatomy is assessed with medical training behind the assessment, and your recommendation comes from someone qualified to recognize contraindications, identify risk factors, and understand the full picture of your health.

Physician assessment has been the standard at GhalMédica since the clinic opened. It is not offered as a premium tier. It is simply how every patient is seen.

Why It Matters
Safety Is Not a Selling Point. It Is a Standard.

Aesthetic medicine in Québec is governed by the Collège des médecins du Québec, and physician oversight at GhalMédica is not a marketing claim. It is a clinical reality that shapes how consultations are conducted and how treatments are delivered.

Physician at Every Appointment

Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD is present and clinically responsible at every injectable treatment at GhalMédica. Not on call. Not available if needed. Present, because that is what physician oversight actually means.

Ultrasound Before Every Filler

GhalMédica uses real-time ultrasound guidance for all filler treatments, mapping your unique vascular anatomy before any product is placed. Vascular injury is a serious complication of filler injection, and ultrasound guidance significantly reduces this risk.

Candidacy Before Anything Else

Your medical history, current medications, and health status are reviewed before any treatment is recommended or performed. Nothing is recommended without physician assessment, and nothing is performed without physician oversight.

Honest Recommendations

When treatment is not the right answer for a patient, the physician says so, and explains why. Patients who proceed at GhalMédica do so because it is clinically appropriate, not because it was sold to them.

The Consultation Fee
Physician Expertise, Priced Transparently

The Physician Aesthetic Consultation is $100 + applicable taxes. The fee reflects what this appointment is: dedicated, one-on-one time with the Medical Director, a structured clinical assessment, a candidacy determination, and a treatment recommendation built for you.

Pricing at GhalMédica is transparent at every step. The consultation fee is confirmed at the time of booking, and treatment pricing is presented during your consultation, after your assessment, so that any figure you receive reflects your actual plan rather than a generic estimate.

If You Proceed the Same Day

Many patients arrive ready to move forward. When the assessment confirms it is clinically appropriate and you choose to proceed, treatment can often be performed the same day, and your consultation fee is credited in full toward its cost.

Common Questions
Before You Book

The questions we hear often from patients who are considering treatment and deciding whether the consultation is their next step.

Something is bothering me, but I'm not sure which treatment is right. Should I still book?

Yes. That is precisely what the consultation determines. You bring the concern; the physician assessment identifies whether treatment is appropriate and which option is best suited to you. You do not need to arrive with a treatment already chosen.

Will I be pressured to book a treatment?

No. GhalMédica does not operate on a sales model. The physician's role at consultation is to assess and advise, and every recommendation is explained with its clinical rationale. The decision is yours, and there is no follow-up sales call.

I don't want to look done or overdone.

A concern we hear often, and exactly the philosophy GhalMédica was built around. We enhance. We don't change. The result we work toward is a patient who looks like themselves: rested, refreshed, and harmonized.

Can I be treated the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes. When the assessment confirms treatment is clinically appropriate and you wish to proceed, treatment can frequently be performed the same day, with your consultation fee credited in full toward its cost. When further preparation is needed, your treatment is scheduled at a separate appointment.

A Quick Check
Is This Consultation Right for You?

The Physician Aesthetic Consultation serves a specific purpose: assessing a cosmetic concern and building a treatment plan around it. A moment to confirm it is the right appointment for what you are looking for.

This consultation is designed for you if
You are considering a physician-led aesthetic treatment and want a clinical assessment before deciding
You have one or more cosmetic concerns, such as volume loss, skin laxity, lines, or texture, that you would like assessed
You want a physician's determination of your candidacy and the options best suited to your anatomy
You are ready for a personalized recommendation and, when appropriate, a treatment plan you can act on
Where a different path may serve you better
Medical skin conditions. Diagnosis of rashes, suspicious lesions, or other medical concerns belongs with your family physician or a dermatologist, and this consultation does not replace that care.
General dermatology care. The consultation is an aesthetic medicine assessment, not a dermatology appointment.
Skincare guidance on its own. If you are not considering treatment and simply want routine guidance, our team is happy to suggest a facial or skincare appointment better matched to that goal.
Extensive second opinions. The consultation centres on our own assessment and recommendation rather than a detailed review of treatment plans from other clinics.
Ready When You Are
Begin With
the Assessment.

You do not need to arrive knowing which treatment you want. Bring the concern that has been on your mind, and leave with a physician's clear, personalized recommendation on how to address it.
