About GhalMédica
What makes GhalMédica different from other aesthetic clinics in Montreal?

GhalMédica is a physician-led boutique clinic, which means every treatment protocol is designed and overseen by Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD, Medical Director. Beyond physician oversight, GhalMédica is one of the few clinics in the West Island to use real-time ultrasound technology for filler treatments — allowing precise vascular mapping before any product is placed. Our approach is regenerative and long-term, not trend-driven.

Where is GhalMédica located?

GhalMédica is located at 330 Ch. du Bord-du-Lac-Lakeshore, Pointe-Claire, Quebec H9R 2V4. We serve patients across the West Island and greater Montreal. All appointments are by booking only.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly through our online booking system at any time. Book here →

Is GhalMédica accepting new patients?

Yes. We welcome new patients and encourage anyone considering aesthetic treatment for the first time to begin with a consultation before committing to any procedure.

Consultations & The Patient Experience
What happens during a consultation at GhalMédica?

A GhalMédica consultation is a genuine clinical assessment, not a sales appointment. Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD will review your medical history, assess your skin and facial anatomy, discuss your concerns and goals, and recommend a treatment approach that is appropriate for you specifically. You are never obligated to book a treatment at the end of a consultation.

How long does a consultation take?

Consultations are allocated sufficient time to be thorough. Plan for approximately 30 to 45 minutes for an initial visit.

Will I be pressured to book multiple treatments at once?

No. GhalMédica does not operate on a volume model. Recommendations are made based on clinical assessment and your personal goals. If a single treatment is appropriate, that is what will be recommended. The decision remains entirely yours.

Can I come in for a consultation without committing to a treatment?

Absolutely. A consultation is the appropriate starting point for any new patient, and there is no obligation to proceed with any treatment following it.

Treatments & Safety
Who performs the treatments at GhalMédica?

Injectable treatments and advanced skin treatments including Morpheus8, SkinPEN microneedling, are performed by Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD, Medical Director. Chemical peels, BelaMD, laser hair removal, and SkinCeuticals facials are performed by GhalMédica's trained medical estheticians under physician oversight.

What is ultrasound-guided filler and why does it matter?

Ultrasound guidance allows Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD to visualize the vascular structures beneath the skin's surface in real time before placing any filler. Because vascular anatomy varies from person to person, this technology reduces the risk of inadvertent vascular compromise — one of the most serious potential complications of filler injection. It is a standard of care that goes beyond what most aesthetic clinics currently offer.

Are your treatments painful?

Most treatments involve some degree of discomfort, which varies by procedure and individual sensitivity. Topical numbing is used where appropriate to minimize discomfort. Your comfort is always discussed and managed before and during treatment.

Do you treat patients who have had previous filler from another clinic?

Yes. If you have had filler placed elsewhere and are uncertain about what was used or where it was placed, we offer ultrasound assessment as part of the consultation process. Understanding what is already present is an essential step before any additional treatment is considered.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

The right treatment depends on your anatomy, your skin's current condition, your goals, and your medical history. This is precisely what a consultation is designed to determine. We do not recommend treatments based on what is popular — only on what is clinically appropriate for you.

Results & Expectations
How long do results last?

Results vary significantly depending on the treatment, the individual's metabolism, lifestyle factors, and how the treatment is maintained over time. During your consultation, Dr. Sonya Ghalehii, MD will provide realistic guidance on what to expect for your specific treatment plan.

When will I see results?

This depends on the treatment. Neuromodulators typically show results within 7 to 14 days. Filler results are visible more immediately, though final results are assessed at two weeks once any swelling has resolved. Regenerative treatments such as Sculptra and Morpheus8 produce progressive improvements over weeks to months, as collagen remodeling occurs gradually.

Are results guaranteed?

No aesthetic treatment can guarantee a specific outcome. Results vary by individual and are influenced by factors including anatomy, skin condition, lifestyle, and adherence to post-treatment care. At GhalMédica, we are committed to honest, evidence-based communication about what each treatment can and cannot achieve.

What happens if I am not satisfied with my results?

We encourage all patients to attend a follow-up appointment so that results can be assessed properly. If there are concerns, they are addressed through a clinical conversation — not dismissed. Our commitment to each patient does not end when they leave the treatment room.

Skincare & Products
What skincare lines does GhalMédica carry?

GhalMédica carries SkinCeuticals, Vivier, Colorescience, COOLA, and more — all selected for their clinical evidence base and alignment with our skin health philosophy. Product recommendations are always made in the context of your skin's specific condition and treatment plan.

Can I purchase skincare products without booking a treatment?

Yes. Our skincare lines are available at the clinic and through our online shop. We recommend a brief skin assessment before purchasing active products to ensure you are selecting formulations appropriate for your skin type and concerns.

Do I need to use specific skincare products before or after my treatment?

In some cases, yes. Certain treatments benefit from a period of skin preparation beforehand, and post-treatment skincare is an important part of protecting your results. Guidance is always provided as part of your treatment plan.
